This route leads us from Canyamel to the Torre de Canyamel. From the centre the route begins at the pines by the beach, Pins de Ses Vegues, from where we head for the way out of town on the main road to Artà. Leaving the sea behind us, we follow this road along a long straight stretch. On our left we have the line of hills Sierra de Sant Jordi, separating us from the municipality of Son Servera, and on the right the fertile valley of Canyamel, where sugar cane was cultivated in the second half of the 15th century and gave its name to the location (literally “cane honey”). At the end of the route we reach the medieval defence tower built in Gothic style in the 13th century. From there we can connect up with routes to the Via Verde or to Capdepera.
