This route connects the route to Na Maians via Sa Farinera with the Via Verde in Artà. It leads us from the biotope by the river bed near Sa Farinera via Na Sopa to the green corridor that links Artà and Manacor. The Via Verde runs along the bed of the old railway line that used to serve the far eastern part of the island of Mallorca. It now provides an easy, safe route into the interior of the island, alternating between wide stretches of traditional agriculture and the typical Mediterranean woodland on the hills that the old railway wound its way around while following the most level path. In reality, route 16 gives the hikers and walkers who have come along the former railway from Manacor, Sant Llorenç, Son Carrió, Son Servera or Artà access to all the routes in our own town.
